Finally the time has come! About 30000 industrious professionals have done hard work and finished your first season. Since April this year, the foundry bees have been ensuring an ecological balance on our company premises and have been hard at work. On Friday we produced our first "Lunkergold honey". A big praise to our helpers for sweetening our day a bit with it!

Our company premises offer a very good basis for a good harvest. Various fruit trees, flower meadows and the idyllic stream provide enough food supply and thus a great honey.

The company beefuture GmbH has also done a very good job. Every two weeks they have looked after the bees and checked whether everything is running as it should be.

On Friday 28.08.2020 we celebrated this with a small honey festival. Our employees were able to learn how the honey is harvested. If the honey is ready for harvesting, you can tell by the capped combs. These wooden frames are next uncapped with a fork, a honey rake.

The combs are then placed sideways in the honey extractor and then it is called cranking. The faster you turn, the more effectively the honey is released from the cells. Now just turn on the tap and the "gold" can flow.

It was a successful evening with plenty of honey in the pockets.

We will definitely continue this project, as sustainability and species protection are very important to us and we also want to give something back to the employees for their good work.
