International markets in the focus of the foundry

Opening up international markets during the company trip with the IHK Chemnitz

International markets in the focus of the foundry

In today's world, more and more companies are embedded in an international context. On the one hand, there is competition with other nations in terms of technology, service and innovation sectors. On the other hand, global and also economic developments have a direct impact on companies. However, the globalisation of companies also brings with it numerous opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises. By stepping into new foreign markets, a medium-sized company can secure its existence in the long term and further expand its success. The foundry is now also focusing on opening up international markets.

„Before talking about the internationalisation of the company, one has to internationalise oneself - and this does not work out of a hotel complex.“

A region that holds a lot of potential

From October 4 - 13, the IHK Chemnitz will be offering business trips to the most economically successful regions in Brazil. Brazil is one of the top 10 largest economies in the world and thus classifies itself as an important trading partner of Germany. New partners and investors are especially appreciated in the economically strong regions. As early as 2019, a Brazilian business trip led to the production sites of various industries on site, including iron ore producers and foundries. A trip in which Max Jankowsky already participated 2 times. 2020 again serves as an excellent opportunity for market exploration and market development for small and medium-sized companies and offers a characteristic insight into the current situation of this mobilized market.

Going global with our customer

Sustainability, future-oriented and globalized thinking, Max Jankowsky testifies to these characteristics with the thought of future markets abroad. The foundry Lößnitz, is mainly active in toolmaking for the automotive industry. The shape of German automobiles of well-known brands such as Porsche, BWM or Daimler, often results, thanks to press tools cast in Lößnitz. Jankowsky already set a sign for this by redesigning the foundry in a climate-neutral way.

„Our industry remains energy-intensive, of course - after all, we have now created transparency and, at the same time, an awareness of this among our employees.“

An implementation that not only delighted the local residents, but also customers in the automotive industry are pleased with this future-oriented thinking:

„We accompany them on their way into the automotive future, which will be more environmentally friendly.“

A growing automotive market is in South America, with access via Brazil. The Lößnitz foundry could therefore enter into cooperation with foundries in Brazil in the future.

„The country has the iron ore, it already uses sustainable energy sources such as hydroelectric power and has room for wind and solar parks - if necessary, we too can become active there as a supplier to OEMs.“

Jankowsky not only used the opportunity to build up partnerships, he also got to know the local working culture, heard about the hurdles and challenges at the Chamber of Commerce Abroad and thus gained an understanding of the diverse cultural perspectives:

„All in all, this gives an increase in practical knowledge that you can't get from books". Max Jankowsky will certainly also take part in the next entrepreneurial trip to South America: "I think you have to stay on the ball all the time - in order to be able to go down common paths with the customer at some point thanks to the expertise you have built up. Even if we only learn to sometimes think a little more creatively or freely, it has already paid off.“
